Maximum 1TB configuration is achieved using four (4) 32GB quad-rank RDIMMs and eight ( 16GB dual-rank RDIMMs in all four installed processors. Maximum 1.5TB configuration is achieved using forty-eight 32GB LRDIMMs.

Registered RDIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules. Registered and Load Reduced modules CANNOT be mixed within the same system.

Quad-rank RDIMMs must be installed only in memory sockets 2, 5, 8 and 11 of each installed processor.

Advanced ECC function is not available if x4 and x8 memory modules are mixed in memory channels (A and B), (C and D), or both, but standard ECC is still available. Advanced ECC is available if x4 and x8 memory modules are mixed in memory channels (A and C), (B and D), or both.

1600MHz memory is only supported in conjunction with Opteron 6200 series or later processors.

Installing two memory modules at a time per processor privides for addition performance, installing four at a time per processor provides for better performance, and installing equal amounts of memory for all processors provides for best performance.

4GB DDR3-1333 Reg ECC modules come in two versions: 313/4G using x4 and 3138/4G using x8 DRAM. The two parts may be installed in the same system but not within the same memory bank. Use like modules for dual and quad channel operation.
