HP ProLiant DL580 G7 Memory Spec

Important:
Low Voltage 1.35V PC3L DIMMs are only supported with Xeon E7 series processors and E7 Memory Cartridge, HP p/n 644172-B21. 32GB DIMMs require Xeon E7 series processors.

Xeon E7 series processors and E7 Memory Cartridge support high density quad-rank 32GB, dual-rank 16GB and low density quad-rank 16GB RDIMMs.

Xeon 7500 series processors and Memory Cartridge support low density quad-rank 16GB RDIMMs and lower capacity parts at 1.5V. Low voltage parts can be used but will operate at 1.5V.

MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS in each Memory Cartridge.

DIMM pairs MUST be populated in sequence by letter designation. Install DIMM pair in 1A/8A first, followed by 3B/6B, then 2C/7C and 4D/5D last.

Maximum performance is achieved by balancing DIMM pairs by letter groupings across all Memory Cartridges. Such that the 1A/8A pair is installed in all Memory Cartridges first, followed by the B pair, C pair and D pair.

Xeon 7500 series processors support memory speeds of 1066, 978 and 800MHz. Memory speed is not affected by number of DIMMs or ranks. All DIMMs will run at the highest possible speed for a given processor. Refer to HP or Intel documentation for Xeon 7500 series processor memory speeds.
