Quad Channel mode.

Due to chipset limitations, Unbuffered ECC DIMMs and Quad Rank RDIMMs are limited to TWO Quad Channel banks per processor (32 sockets only). Populating all 48 sockets requies Single or Dual Rank RDIMMs only.

4GB Reg ECC modules come in two versions: 313S/4G using x4 and 3138/4G using x8 DRAM. The two parts may be installed in the same system but not within the same memory bank. Use like modules within a memory bank.

This system supports either Unbuffered ECC, Registered ECC or Load Reduced memory. Mixing Unbuffered, Registered, or Load Reduced modules is not supported within this system.
