Faster memory will clock down to run at optimal speed and voltage depending on processor model and number of modules installed.

DIMMs must be populated in matched pairs for each processor (A1/A2, A3/A4). Single DIMM operation is not supported.

4GB DDR3-1333 Reg ECC modules come in two versions: 313S/4G using x4 and 3138/4G using x8 DRAM. The two parts may be installed in the same system but not within the same memory bank.

Xeon E7 series processors support high density quad-rank 32GB (KTD-PE310QLV/32G), dual-rank 16GB (KTD-PE313LV/16G) and low density quad-rank 16GB (KTD-PE313QLV/16G) RDIMMs.

Xeon 7500/6500 series processors support low density quad-rank 16GB (KTD-PE313QLV/16G) RDIMMs and lower capacity parts at 1.5V.
