The new SandForce SF-2281 controller is indeed a force to be reckoned with, producing some outstanding performance results, as we saw it obliterated every other controller out there so far. The only drive that really manages to eclipse the HyperX is the Revo X2 which has SandForce controllers in a RAID setup.
Costing about $510 USD for the 240GB version upgrade kit (and $490 for the base kit), the HyperX is surprisingly well priced against the competition. And for a modest additional cost, the upgrade kit is killer. While the HyperX SSD is a bit late to market than some other companies, Kingston has a real speed demon on its hands. Factor in the amazing accessories package, and this drive is a powerhouse winner.
