The new Vertex 2 series utilize the SandForce controller that enables the user to benefit from a fine evolution in terms concerns the IOPS and the small data blocks performance (just take that, using 4kB in ATTO and Crystaldiskmark, there are substantial gains comparing to the original Vertex and the other SSDs that were tested), even though it doesn’t make use of cache memory as the ones that are based on Indilinx do.
